Could 6mm rope be used as a scratching post?

Yes. The most popular sizes for cat scratching posts are 6mm, 8mm or 10mm.  The most popular material is Sisal but natural Hemp and Manila can also be used.

What is the best option for tying down a marquee?

Any synthetic rope listed on this page will do the job.  The most common option bought by our customers would be blue Polypropylene.  Mainly due to the high strength and economic cost.  The blue colour also allows for high visibility better-preventing tripping over.

What is the cheapest 1/4 inch rope available?

Blue Polypropylene which is a very popular multi-use rope.  Used to lift, pull, drag and tie down objects.

What is the best option for handicrafts?

This really depends on the type of handicraft it will be used for.  Please see our Arts & Crafts category for more information.  In general natural fibers tend to be more popular than synthetic as they are kinder/nicer to handle.
