Sun Resistant Rope FAQ
What option will last the longest outdoors?
This is highly dependant on the way the product will be used and the weather conditions it will be exposed to. Every rope is suited to different types of enviroments and tasks. For example Polyester has a very strong resistance to sunlight exposure but it will degrade quicker than other materials when exposed to alkalis. Manila is very resistant to alkalis and has a good resistance to sunlight but it is made of natural fibers so it will rot over time when exposed to wet weather conditions.
Leaded Polysteel is a specialised option manufactured for commercial fishing conditions. Overall it is the most resistant to sunlight an outdoor conditions. Polyester is a close second choice.

Will it change colour in the sun?
Yes. Sunlight will slowly degrade any material over time. No rope is 100% UV protected. Most will quickly start to change colour when exposed to sunlight but the integrity of the material will be in tact for a long time after this point.
